2012
First Full Body VR
“Huge video game fans” and USC students Nathan Burba, James Iliff, Graham Matuszewski, and Alex Silkin build the first full-body and portable VR system with a dream to make VR home entertainment what it can and should be.
2013
The Beginning
Survios acquires seed funding and is founded with the mission to create the most immersive, mind-blowing digital experiences possible and the vision of a world where virtual reality is the preferred medium for play.
2014
First VR Project
Survios develops its first virtual reality project, Zombies on the Holodeck, that wins three Proto Awards for ‘Best Overall Experience,’ ‘Most Transportive,’ and ‘Best Interaction Design.’
2016
First Million in Sales
Raw Data becomes the first VR game to hit $1M in sales only one month after release and the first to be a #1 Top Seller on Steam across all games worldwide. Acquires Series C funding led by MGM.
2018
First Awards
Survios releases Sprint Vector, Electronauts, and Creed: Rise to Glory. Wins awards for “Developer of the Year,” “Best Character Design,” “Best Sound Design,” ‘Best Use of Music for Games,” and named a “Best VR Game of the Year” nominee and “Lumber Award Honoree.” Establishes Netvios, a joint venture with NetEase to distribute VR games in China.
2019
More Awards & Series D Funding
Survios continues to establish itself as a home for licensed VR experiences with Westworld: Awakening (nominated for D.I.C.E. Award “Immersive Reality Technical Achievement”) and secures a license to “AMC’s The Walking Dead.” Releases the original fantasy game Battlewake. Irongrey leads Series D funding.
2020
One Million Units Sold
Survios reaches 1 million units sold. Can now find at least one Survios game in 1 out of 8 VR devices. Walking Dead Onslaught is released. Westworld: Awakening is honored as a 23rd Annual D.I.C.E. Award Finalist.
2021
First Cross-Reality Game
Survios develops and ships Puzzle Bobble the first cross-reality title based on a major game franchise and its first non-VR game Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions.
