When Survios founders Nate, James, and Alex first came together in Project Holodeck, none of them anticipated how their shared philosophy of active, social VR would result in one of the platform\u2019s early defining titles.<\/p>\n<p>The story behind <i>Raw Data <\/i>is as engaging as the game itself. <i>Rolling Stone<\/i>\u2019s Glixel gaming section profiled the \u201cthree college kids who are absolutely in love with a crazy idea\u201d (plus Design Director Mike McTyre) in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/glixel\/features\/raw-data-an-oral-history-w509489\">a cool feature<\/a> about the passions that drove them to create Survios and plunge headfirst into VR game development.<\/p>\n<p><b>Read the entire feature <\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rollingstone.com\/glixel\/features\/raw-data-an-oral-history-w509489\"><b><i>Raw Data<\/i><\/b><b>: An Oral History<\/b><\/a><b> on Glixel now!<\/b><\/p>\n<p>However, we\u2019ve also been internally documenting the evolution of <i>Raw Data <\/i>from its original concept to its final form. And we\u2019re excited to share the first episode with you now!<\/p>\n<p>Part 1 is all about the origin story, covering the early days in USC\u2019s Mixed Reality Lab, to Survios\u2019s official founding, to the development of the nascent game demos that would eventually become <i>Raw Data. <\/i>Did you know that <i>Raw Data<\/i> started from a film-noir inspired zombie game?
