When 2016 rolled around, it was no secret within the close-knit VR community that Survios had been on the downlow for a while. For us, VRLA was the big reveal of what\u2019s been consuming our lives for basically the past year and a half. So we built up the excitement, both for us and for our fans, as we anxiously counted down to January 23.<\/p>\n

But the reality is that we weren\u2019t that nervous–we were absolutely stoked to finally share Raw Data <\/i>with everybody because we\u2019ve had so much fun playing it ourselves!<\/p>\n

And, judging from seeing people like these guys getting into Active VR, it seems the feelings were mutual…<\/p>\n

That\u2019s why we set up not just one of the more elaborate booths at VRLA, but partnered with our friends at\u00a0HTC<\/a>, AMD<\/a>,\u00a0Alienware<\/a> and Twitch<\/a>–plus The Nerdist<\/i><\/a>\u2019s Malik Forte<\/a>–to host the first-ever livestreamed VR event. And, of course, we had to make that an awesome afterparty in and of itself, so we had Double A Events<\/a> hook us up with an slow-mo photo booth, the Komodo truck<\/a>, some spicy mixology and a DJ who ignited an impromptu dance party.<\/p>\n

Major props to everyone on the Survios team who helped set up those HTC Vive<\/a>-compatible demo spaces with external streaming, proving that VR can go anywhere with the right amount of math, measuring and ingenuity.<\/p>\n

Finally, we got the media’s first impressions of Raw Data-<\/em>-and these have only pushed us to develop the combat experience to be even more immersive and wholly badass:<\/p>\n
